EDITORIAL & TESTING POLICY
Our goal is useful, clearly explained guidance for small-space edible gardening. This policy describes how SproutWish intends to research, review and label its content.
Sources and regional context
We prioritise university extension services, established horticultural organisations, government guidance and relevant manufacturer documentation. We link to sources where they support important care advice or technical specifications.
Recommendations should account for plant variety, indoor light, container size, local weather and frost risk. US and UK differences are explained when they materially affect a decision.
Research is different from hands-on testing
A research-based guide or comparison is not a product test. An article described as tested must identify who performed the trial, where and when it took place, the conditions, observations and limitations. We do not present trials conducted in one climate as evidence of performance in another.
Product coverage and commercial relationships
Equipment is considered by the problem it solves, suitability, features, maintenance and value. Prices and availability can change. If affiliate links, sponsored content or supplied products are used, the relevant relationship will be disclosed clearly in the article. Commercial relationships must not be presented as independent testing.
Images and assisted drafting
Illustrative and AI-generated visuals are labelled where appropriate. They do not demonstrate a real harvest or test result. Any assisted drafting requires editorial checking before publication; factual claims remain the publisher’s responsibility.
Updates and corrections
We aim to review articles when guidance or product information changes. Material corrections should be explained in the affected article. An update date should reflect substantive review, rather than an automatic freshness claim.
